Summary

In the depths that his own sin has cast him, the sinner cries out to the God who alone forgives sin. The sinner waits with his whole being to hear the words of the God who will redeem Israel.

A note from Jason

It’s not hard to get into this psalmist’s shoes. We’ve all been in the depths of some problem or situation that flows entirely from our own sin. We’ve felt the burden on our heart and longed to have that guilt lifted.

It is glorious to see how this psalm finds its fulfillment in Christ. The plentiful redemption of our God was poured out because of the immeasurable sacrifice of our Savior. What a Savior, what a Gospel!
