Rejoicing in 20 Years of God’s Faithfulness
Brian’s dream teams of systematic theology and new testament studies. Yes, this actually happened. |
I want to thank God our heavenly Father for a great, Christ-exalting weekend! The Word of God was preached by Tom Schreiner and Bruce Ware with passion and precision. The fellowship centered around God’s faithfulness for 20 years has made my heart full. Seeing my spiritual family enjoy the feast this weekend was a pure delight!
On Sunday morning in Sunday School I spoke on Reflections on 20 Years. Afterwards, Tom Schreiner said to me, “Everyone who is in this church should have been here! They SHOULD have been here!” Although it may sound self-serving, I agree. If this is your church family, you should at least listen to it when it is posted to sermon audio.
Thank you’s
- I want to thank our church family and the many, many visitors who took advantage of the feast and contributed to the joy!
- I want to thank all those who generously opened their homes to out-of-town visitors.
- I want to thank Ashley, Desiree, Makelah, Levi, Zach and Chad for the wonderful times of worship in song.
- I want to thank Nannette and Rebecca for all that they did to make the conference comfortable for our guests with refreshments and the lunch on Saturday.
- I want to thank Nathan for all the time he put into the sound/video ministry.
- I want to thank those who worked in the nursery.
- I want to thank Carolyn and Mollie for all the preparations.
- I want to thank Jason for his technology stuff.
- I want to thank those who gave their testimonies, it was a great joy to hear them!
- I want to thank Tom and Bruce for their excellent preaching.
My heart is full.
Pastor Brian
P.S. I’d love to hear your own reflections and thoughts on the 20th Anniversary. Please post your comments below!
"They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42
Being together three days in a row was like being in the early church days of Acts! What a blessing for my soul. God is great and greatly to be praised!! MSW
A weekend of great joy and nourishment! My cup overflows. Amazing that God would provide such a banquet in little, rural Minden NV., while so many starve in the great cities of our nation.
Favorite fun and wise lesson from the weekend: Don't set your vacuum on fire! (you had to be there) – Mollie
1 Cor. 13:2 …but do not have love, I am nothing. :3 …do not have love, it profits me nothing.
2 Cor. 9:6 … he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Attending your families anniversary celebration is an expression of love. Love to your Father who gave and sustains that family, love to your pastor and elders for their diligent care over your soul, and love to your brothers and sisters who labor along side you to help you reach heaven safely. Your heart's affections are evidenced in your actions. The Lord knows if you were providentially hindered from attending, but He also knows if your heart lacks love. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Seek earnestly to treasure your church body and you will reap bountifully!! As Pastor told me years ago, "take church seriously because you want to take God seriously".
I was blessed beyond measure by the weekend. As Pastor said, "I was full", and my cup ran over!! I love and cherish what the Lord has given me in Grace and I pray that I never take it for granted and that it is never taken from me this side of Heaven. Love, Mindy Funk
What a feast! I was so blessed by the messages, the fellowship, and God's grace! Thank you to all of you who made it happen. I really appreciate you!!!

To be honest, I entered this past weekend quite tired and not sure I wanted to spend the majority of it at church. Having said that, I was also very thankful to have been there. God was very faithful to teach us all weekend and I really enjoyed the preaching. I would also add that the children who attended also got the meat of the Word! I thought to share a couple of lines from one of my children's notes. Text – Ephesians 6… "Fathers don't spank your daughters when they are good. …. Don't have naughty, bad kids over to your house or else you will say, "Wheeew, when they leave….Children, obey your parents. Maybe they didn't learn quite like we did! :)
I would agree with Mindy. "My cup runneth over." Thank you, Lord, for a great weekend.
I would also add a thank you to all who helped in the nursery. It ran very smoothly this weekend. I appreciate you!

I agree with the first post. To be together for 3 days in a row with your brothers and sisters for worship and to hear the word preached was awesome. To have Dr. Tom and Bruce with us…amazing!!! This was an absolutely great weekend…it makes me long for Heaven all the more!
