In Jesus’ calling of Levi, a tax collector, and in Jesus’ attendance and teaching at a feast with tax collectors, Jesus made clear that his mission was to seek out and call wretched sinners to repentance.

  1. What do we learn about Levi’s attitude from the way he responds to Jesus’ call to follow him? 
  2. How were the pharisees and their scribes deceived about themselves? How do we deceive ourselves in the same way?
