Jesus makes some bold statements about what it means to follow him. He does this to make sure people understand what they are getting themselves into.

  1. What are some stories of the Bible where God is patient with people? 
  2. How have you needed God’s patience in the past? How does that affect how you treat other people? 
  3. Which of the three reasons for following Jesus is a particular challenge for you? How does the Gospel make that challenge “worth it”?
